Every review I read complains about the height of the screens and how its difficult to reach the notification shade. One great trick is to use Nova Launcher and assign a swipe down gesture to bring down the notification shade. I used it on my GS7E and it works amazingly well.

As I recall, there is also a button that can be set on your homescreen. This is in Nova Actions under widgets.

I'm sorry, how is it difficult to bring down the notification shade? I don't get it.

with the 18.9 screen ratio, the phone is particularly tall. Many reviewers have commented that when holding the phone one handed, its a long reach to the top of the phone. Particularly with the S8+.

I must have accidentally turned off the screen rotation button.
And can't find it in settings. Did a search, still can't figure how to find it.
In my old s5, never had a problem finding stuff like this.
Hope someone will tell me where to look.

Edit, never mind, figured it out. 😊

I have a better idea for you that doesn't require a launcher because there is a sort of hidden option in samsung software that does it for you:

1. On the home screen, press and hold on an empty area.
2. Bottom right tap on "Home Screen Settings"
3. Down the list, activate "Quick-Open Notification Panel".

Cheers. I hope this helps.
