How many people have been away from a charger so long throughout the course of a normal day to where their phone died?
I can see if you have plans to be in an area where you can't charge once in a blue moon. But, does this affect many people actually?
With the quick charging available, how does someone not plan around this?
    Maybe I'm missing something here.

Honestly not everyone works in a office, I work in a factory and I have to leave my phone charging at an outlet and you can't see it. I would like to think no one would steal it but you never know. Also it's not right by so it sucks not being able to reply to text or surf or whatever for a while.

As said in the post above me some people don't have the pleasure. Sure I would say most people have desk jobs but there are definitely people who don't and they have to rely on other methods to stay charged.

    J. williams talks about the pricing today and the rumor the s8 Plus will be $970 and he's really liking the G6 for $650.

Samsung is really jacking the price up. Main thing over the G6 is AMOLED and the 835 chip which doesn't cost over $300 more to produce.

I might give teh G6 a consideration now. Plus is has a flat screen too and it looks like the camera issues with the V20 have been fixed based on the design of the back of the phone.

To me it's the internal storage. Google & Apple can get away with 32 GB on a flagship. For LG to get the attention from mainstream buyers they need to be above and beyond. Just being a shiny new phone with no exciting new features is not going to move the LG needle. LG seems to understand this in Korea but not in the USA.

I prefer the IPS LCD displays. They don't have burn-in problems like the AMOLED screens.
Not sure how much improvement the G6 screen will be over G4. But G4's IPS screen is really bad under sunlight, the colour is totally washed out

Hopefully the G6's IPS LCD display will be similar to the one on my iPhone 7 Plus. It's great in direct sunlight.

I really like Amoled screens and I think G6 is a nice design, but I've been burned LG phones in the past. Had the G3 and even the G4...just not my thing. I wish LGs software was a tad better and maybe the G^ improved that. I guess I'll wait to see what people say about it at release and then after the March 29th event. Then I'll make my decision.

I'm just waiting to see what promotions/goodies come with the S8 once it's officially launched vs what's being offered for the G6. I don't think I'm enough of a power user anymore to notice the performance differences.

There has been no press release yet for the S8 line and people making choices already? WOW. The battery life is important and very much so to me but i think it is better to wait till they have there event and release the details and see. Everyone is talking like this is all 100% when it is not till they have there event and i am sure they will talk about battery life.

Battery life on my S6 edge plus is eh and i expect it should be better on a S8 so lets kinda wait till they release the specs and talk about it and the reviews which will all happen way before the release date.
They always talk about battery life at events and every manufacturer says their battery life will be great. I don't put much stock in what they say except that I won't get whatever it is that they quote.

I offered to get my wife the G6, and she basically said she would never want an LG phone. Kinda funny, but that's what LG is dealing with. She said she's just gonna wait for the next Note even though she absolutely hates the S7 edge she has.

According to most reviews I have watched all of them say they can see it in direct sunlight without issue.

That's one shift, not including any lunch. A phone can last 8-9 hours off a charger and be recharged in less than an hour or less, especially if you aren't using it much in that time span.

Again...I'm talking about 14+ hours or so away from electricity or a power bank. I don't think it's many people. If you are are your phone 6+ hours straight, most likely you're not working anyways. If you are you're most likely near an outlet at some point throughout the day.

Again .. Not necessarily. My friends battery can get rocked at work because he listens to YouTube in the background due to them having certain mixes that aren't on GPM or Spotify. Put that with him being in a warehouse with a weaker signal.. It can drain battery pretty quick.

Not everyone is in the same spot as you. Yes for majority we can say they will be fine but there are exceptions to every rule and just because you can't seem to get it doesn't mean it isn't an issue for some .

I'd consider the S6 instead of an S8 variant, based on price/feature tradeoffs. I still have a Verizon S3 passed down to me by my uncle. It sits in a VR headset for sporatic use since I never could get it to work for mobile data (only works on wifi). I'm currently using a Samsung "galaxy express prime", aka J320 on Marshmallow.

The last Sammy phone I had was a Galaxy S3 and I really loved that phone, right up till the time that I threw it on the ground. Totally by accident of course.

My next phone was a LG G3 followed by the LG V10 and I have really liked them as well. I do think my next phone will be the Galaxy S8+. From what I can tell it should be about the same height at my V10 but a little narrower. Don't get me wrong, the G6 seems pretty sweet, but I just am drawn more to the S8 aesthetically.
