AT&T subscriber here: Any advantages in buying a Verizon S8 for AT&T over an AT&T S8?

AT&T subscriber here: When buying a new phone for personal use I have a choice to buy it from AT&T or buy from Verizon. Since Verizon phones are automatically GSM unlocked you can pop in a At&T sim and go.

Has worked well in past using iPhone 6 and has advantage where you can use any other GSM carrier or got another country and not have to worry about unlocking it. If I get an At&T phone it's locked on AT&T.

So I'm wondering from owners of past Samsung models on each carrier... are there any other advantages in buying a Verizon S8 for AT&T over an AT&T S8?

Which carrier has better record of pushing updates to Samsungs? Pushing them faster? Which is better on bloatware (heard At&T is worse)? Phone from one carrier support more bands for other carriers than another? Any other advantages I'm not thinking of?

I'd never buy an Android phone for one carrier to use on another carrier. Not worth the hassle.

att is way worse for bloatware. and im not sure if you will get LTE becuase att and verizon does not share the same bands. i know iphone you will get lte but i doubt it with an android device

Hmm... I was concerned might not be as simple with Android phones over iPhones and require much more research. :/ in end not end of world sticking with At&T and not unlocking it for travel or other carriers. Thx.

I'm currently using H20 and I ordered the Verizon version because it's unlocked. Next month i may switch to simple mobile for a free phone then switch to cricket for another free phone. I've never used Verizon but my past 7 phones have all been Verizon branded.
