Lag after one week?

I've had the S8+ for one week, and it's now starting to lag significantly intermittently. I've cleared the device cache and that helps for a while. But inevitably it comes back. I've used Package Disabler Pro to disable T-Mobile TV and similar apps. I'm not using any apps that I don't use on other phones that don't have this lag. I love this phone, but am wondering if Sammy still hasn't figured out the lag issue. Anyone else seeing this yet?

Barely. Happened once or twice. I rebooted and it fixed the lag. Something may be going in the cache to where it's not closing programs entirely

No lag yet for me. I have used this app. It's in the play store for $2. Check it out if you'd like to.... bk disabler. I hope this helps you out.

I have not had any issues with lag (had my S8+ since the 19th) I would be interested to know what you have running, screen rezolution, etc. All of these things can affect performance.

Cheers,

No lag to speak of. Only thing I have noticed is that Bixby doesn't launch when I hit the physical button.

I'm running in Quad HD resolution with the OOTB theme that came with it. Using the stock Samsung launcher. Apps that would eat up lots of memory include Facebook. I don't use the stock Samsung email client, instead opting for Nine Email, but I do use all the rest of Samsung's apps such as their messaging, calendar, contacts, etc. I have a Class 10 U3 Samsung Pro 128GB microSD card for photos, videos and downloaded songs from Google Music. I have a few games, but rarely play them, and I use Waze, but shut it down and swipe it away as soon as I'm done with it.

I have Package Disabler Pro, and have disabled T-Mobile TV, and T-Mo Name Service, along with Hancom Office (since I use MS Office). Earlier today I disabled Bixby and so far haven't had lag. But since the lag is very intermittent, I'd have to run it for at least another 24 hours to know for sure if that made a difference.

Have you tried just for a while to run your phone without the SD card? It seems that there is some kind of bug or glitch affecting some SD cards, an SD card bug can easily affect performance in general causing your sudden lag.

That's a good idea. I haven't used an sd card in years. Everything of mine is in the Google cloud.

Anyway, I have heard that Facebook app is bad on android and is slowing your phone and draining battery. Is that true? Should I just disable the app?

You've heard right. For the people on this thread that use Facebook on their phones , try downloading Facebook lite.

I reboot once a week but.. that being said no lag. Not sure if the reboot helps.

No lag thus far unless you consider AT&T throttling my data on a supposed unlimited data plan.

At 27 GB for the current billing cycle. AT&T starts throttling above 16.5GB.
They should only do it once over 22 GB and only if congested. Once congestion is gone it should go back to normal.
