The Samsung unpacked event is at 1800 BST. So should be announced during that. Sammy usually stream such events in their website aswell so might be worth a look. Unfortunately I will still be at work

Yea BST is British summer time. Just search Samsung unpacked live stream on Google and you are sure to find somewhere, if not android central are live blogging on the ifa page I think

Well android central reported last week that they had the update confirmed for today. So still hope! That being said I already have it don't know why I'm getting excited lol

I'm sure Samsung would have loved to announce that if the date was actually today. Why hold back the date?

No they just said JB coming soon, yea they unveiled all of there windows 8 devices, an new camera which runs on JB (looked cool actually) and the note 2. Also check your PM man

Thanks for sharing the link friend. Hopefully all variants will get the update at the same time, or the carrier versions want be to far behind. A week maybe. Can't wait to get the official jellybean update.

SAMSUNG OTA JELLY BEAN (4.1) DISCUSSION THREAD


Hi Guys

With all the rumours about the jelly bean update going to drop on the 29th after Samsung unpacked talk at IFA (1800 BST). I thought now would be a good time to start a big thread where we can all discuss what we are looking forward to in the update, what we think of it when it comes and also help any people who had trouble with updating.

Hopefully this way people can get help quicker and we won't have a million different threads about it in the main forum.

If you want a preview of what to expect android central did a big article of the leaked version a couple of weeks ago to show most of the new feature which can be found here:

Having looked at the leak firmwares I would expect the update to have the name DLH7 or above so look out for any firmwares with that lettering (although it could be completely different)

I am already running the leaks and I have to say I think Samsung have done an amazing job! So if you want any info on the leak and my opinion on different things just ask

Also you have any hints or tips to do with the update please post them so I can update this Post and share them with everybody else.

Please do post when you think you have received the update so other people know its coming

Thanks for the info. In the link you provided they say jelly bean is not faster than ics but one of the best things of jelly bean was going to be project butter, right? Do you notice the 60 fps thing in The leaked version you have? Cheers :-)

I am running a leak that is newer than the one they reviewed, and I have to yes it defiantly quicker but you can't notice the 60 fps lol. Your eyes just aren't fast enough but it is defiantly quicker and smoother!

It is hard to say because like I said the leak is still a bit buggy. But when it is working correctly yes there seems to be zero lag
