My wife's Galaxy S 3 all of a sudden started saying the name of the person who was texting her after the notification sound.

Anyone heard of this happening? We can't figure out how to turn it off.

Maybe she pressed the 'Driving Mode' at the notification bar? I am not 100% sure though since this has not happened to me.

Turns out she had pushed driving mode. But of course she said she hadn't pushed anything.

Now that your wife knows how to do it - she might put your phone in "Driving Mode" - so she can hear who sends you texts
