Re: Verizon TAB 4GLTE
Mine is waiting for me at home! So excited! I had the wifi only version but returned it when I pre-ordered the LTE one.

Re: Verizon TAB 4GLTE
They changed the location of the buttons probably to fit the radio in. You can see pics on the VZW web site. TW won't launch until next week

Re: Verizon TAB 4GLTE
Any reason people purchase this rather than get a wifi only and root their Android phone to be able to tether? (Just curious)

Re: Verizon TAB 4GLTE
Yeah, I like letting my phone just...sit. I'd rather just use the data plan on the tablet and not worry about connecting another device to it. Come to think of it, I couldn't even get my rooted Charge to tether successfully to my original wifi Tab 10.1. I was waiting for a 4G tablet and this is it

Re: Verizon TAB 4GLTE
Hey Stang68, tell me nice things about the 10.1 LTE... I was going to leave work early, and am still stuck in the office past midnight now, while my tablet sits at home.

Re: Verizon TAB 4GLTE
I dont want my wifi connection interupted because I get a phone call while being tethered to my phone. You cant operate a business this way. 4G is a must.

Re: Verizon TAB 4GLTE
I have the wifi version of the 10.1, and I must say this is an incredible device. Those who are getting yours for the first time will realize that Samsung did it right with this tablet.
I use the hotspot feature on my Evo 4g to connect to the internet whenever wifi is not available. However, I will say that I like the idea of a seperate data plan for the tablets.
Using the hotspot feature does require you to never be far from a charger. Otherwise, in my experience anyway, a dead phone battery will be the result.
I really wish that Samsung could have worked out a deal with the carriers to provide data on demand the way it's done on the iPad. No worry about contracts. Just activate, pay, use, and deactivate your data right on the tablet. This way you only use what you pay for. In my opinion, this is the way all data should be handled on tablets. - 07-28-2011, 10:52 AM #20

Re: Verizon TAB 4GLTE
(I didn't read through the thread yet, so I'm sure I'm repeating some things)
Picked mine up today from Verizon.
First thing to note, they moved the sound and power buttons to the left side of the device in favor of the Mico sim slot on the top of the device. It's too early to tell if this is going to become an issue with hand placement yet.
Second, no ear buds like you get with the Wifi only!? I feel jipped.
Third, so far 4G speed tests are 'Ok'. I'm in a heavy LTE area and typically average 20mbps+ down with a Verizon Mifi device. First few tests with the tab where around 8mbps down and 10mbps up. (Still better than 3G). I'm assuming this may be related to network load right now and will be doing more tests throughout the day.
Fourth, I don't see the little unlocked lock icon during boot like I did with the Wifi only device.Last edited by gaguy; 07-28-2011 at 11:14 AM.

Re: Verizon TAB 4GLTE
Is there a cap on Verizon's LTE plan for this Tab?

Re: Verizon TAB 4GLTE
Their monthly data plans are:
$30 for 2gb
$50 for 5gb
$80 for 10gb
If these figures are incorrect someone please advise.
The advantage to using my Evo4g is that I get unlimited data with Sprint, so I don't have to worry about a cap. However, with everything in life there is always a trade off somewhere else.
I can't be on the phone and browse the Tab at the same time, and like I stated before, I do have to be concerned about batter life.
Otherwise, I have a great option with the hotspot feature on the phone. - 07-28-2011, 11:50 AM #24
