Re: No ICS ever for Tab 10.1 GT-P7510 thats Official
Why the delay? It seems obvious to me. There is very little for big Sam to gain by expending resources on a product that's already been sold. Their concern is that by updating an existing model it would cannibalize sales from their newer models that come with ICS out of the box. By now the Tab 2 has been out for a while so why not go ahead and issue the update. How much can it cost them now? It may also prevent even more alienation from existing users. I may not know what is going on in Mr. Sung's mind but I can speculate in terms that sound plausible.

Well awaiting a callback from Samsung as I can't connect my Tab to Kies although it will connect to my SGS3 so don't know whether there ICS yet or not!! Keep checking for an OTA but just says no updates available still so still waiting!!

Re: No ICS ever for Tab 10.1 GT-P7510 thats Official
I had never rooted anything to my Tab, but last night I went ahead and downloaded and flashed this new, official UK build from the XDA-developers forum. It's completely worth it if you know what you are doing, IMO. As an official build, everything in it works normally and it's completely worth the wait. I didn't know what I was doing, but I managed to follow the instructions and put everything in place without too much of a problem. Now, with an official version of ICS, my Tab runs like a dream and feels like a new machine, frankly. This wait has been horrible, but this new OS version is simply amazing.

Re: No ICS ever for Tab 10.1 GT-P7510 thats Official
I did the exact same thing the morning it was released and couldn't be happier. My tab is brand new and runs so much better. Actually i have found that it run better on other versions of UK firmware, but anyways. I'll keep it as is until the office US is released, if it ever is. My nexus 7 arrives tomorrow lol.

Re: No ICS ever for Tab 10.1 GT-P7510 thats Official
To make sure I have it right....
I created a new folder and extracted the .tar.md5 file to it.
I also extracted Odin to the same folder, which extracted the Odin executable, the .ini file, and a .dll file.
From there, I run Odin, and use the .tar.md5 file in the PDA slot on Odin.
Correct?
There is also a .pit file. Do I also need to use it?
I ask as there are differences in some of the "how to" giudes that have been posted on various sites.
ETA: One more (I hope)...As the file is for the UK, and I'm in the US, is there an option for US english?
