I have a rooted HTC Evo 4G running CM7.0.3 and just needed to flash an older version of GApps. Supposedly the next stable release of CM (7.1 I believe) will have a compatable version of GApps included. In either case, if you are rooted it can be down in flash (pun intended).

I decided to gift a tab 10.1 to my dad since it fits his needs.
similarly, i gifted an ipad2 to my in-laws because that's what they need.
we use iphones.
now, what are my options for video calls between the 3 households?
obviously, facetime is the right answer for video between my in-laws and us but what about the tablet?
I tried fring, skype and tango and was not successful with video.
I do not mind paying for an app at either end (on iphone or the tab).
thanks all! - 06-28-2011, 06:11 PM #19

Re: video chat apps for GT10.1, wifi only?
Maybe all's not lost. I guess we'll find out in about a day if Facebook comes to the rescue for something browser-based using Skype.
One of the reasons I jumped the gun on getting a tablet now instead of waiting for the likes of Amazon or even Windows 8 is because of the wife's trip overseas soon. I guess I should have checked more carefully about Skype. - 07-05-2011, 12:56 PM #23

Re: video chat apps for GT10.1, wifi only?
So I guess that didn't work out with Facebook. A "your browser is not supported" message when going there from a mobile device.
Tango and Fring are out for me, and I guess Google Talk as well, since I need international Android to PC video chat.
Now what? I have a google+ invite, though I can't get in and I'm not sure if it allows for what I need (free). - 12-27-2012, 07:50 AM #25
