    Can you change what apps are inlcuded?

    Nope, not without rooting, but you can edit which are displayed. You soon get used to the arrow keys and avoiding it.
    Display the mini apps, tap "edit" and drag the ones you hate up. Tap done

    Can you disable the mini apps altogether without rooting?

    To the best of my knowledge, no. I reduced to mini apps to mail and calender so only those 2 pop up, but with use of the tablet, one soon learns to avoid the pop-up section.

    When I drag the apps up in edit, they remain there. Ideas?
