Remove quick launch bar at the bottom?

I love my tab 2 but the quick launch bar at the bottom is very irritating. I dont particularly want quick access to samsungs apps and if I am trying and go for the space bar and am not that accurate then the quick launch bar pops up. I cant see an option anywhere to disable it so I presume its not an option but has anyone found a way do do it?

At least you can remove all (but then the blank edit bar pops up) or most. I have paired mine down to the calculator, S-planner and e-mail only.

I removed them all but alas, you still get a blank toolbar
