Will battery change in Samsung Tablet 2, 10.1, GT-P5113 lose all my data and files?

A

AC Question

1. Will all my info be gone?
2. How can I save it, if it goes?
3. How can I clean out all of the junk that has built up over time?

Any help appreciated.

Welcome.

Your data will not be lost. Power off the device, then do the battery change.

Don't worry too much about junk files. From time to time, do a cached data clear in Storage, and a Cache Partition wipe.

Thanks for the quick reply, I was worried I would lose everything when changing battery, guess there is another battery in there somewhere.
Where would I learn how to clear the Storage and do the partition wipe?

For the first, go to Settings, Storage, Cached Data, and clear the cache.
I'm not familiar with Samsung devices, but I believe that to do the second, you first Power Off the tablet, then press and hold Power, Home and Volume Up+Down together, until the device boots into Recovery. From there, use Volume Up or Down to highlight Wipe Cache Partition, then press Power once.
