Re: Buying or not
I am interested in reading reviews for battery life, screen viewing angles, etc. The price point is good, its hard to justify a small screen for more than a 10 " screen price so $250.00 is a very good price. I am waiting to see a case available also, I have a thing about putting my stuff in cases. I have some players and a laptop that are old but look perfect cause they were always in cases.

With the galaxy tab 7.0 plus now going for 299. It might be worth it to get that one instead. The galaxy tab 2 runs games at around 30 fps while the galaxy tab 7.0 plus runs games at 60 fps. Other than that the galaxy tab 2 is really similar to the 7.0 plus is most ways.

Re: Buying or not
Picked one up yesterday and it's fantastic. Haven't had a whole lot of time to play around with it, but aside from the USAA app which was incompatible everything works amazingly well. The screen is very bright and crisp, the tablet is very responsive. Not a single hiccup even as it synced my account. The camera does suprisingly well for a 3 MP and all of the photo editing goodies from ICS are present. This is the 3rd 7" tablet I"ve owned and by far the best. Well worth the price.

Re: Buying or not
i HATE that companies do this.. create a product, create MASSIVE hype.. then dont keep stores in stock.. and you ask one of those... employees at best buy and you get that blank look and told they dont know.. how can you not know.. and shame on companies for not keeping stock

Re: Buying or not
If sales do well I am sure Best Buy will stock more. Mine only had ordered 5 and on release day sold 3 right away.
I like the fact that there is a OMAP processor in this rather than the Tegra 2. It seems to run smoother for me than the Galaxy Tabs with the Tegra 2 in it. TI processors have always performed the best for me. I am not a fan of Nvidia at all.

Re: Buying or not
On the fence on this one. I have the iPad, but only use it at home. I want a portable tablet / media player for podcasts on the go (Mainly in the car). Thinking either this or the Player 5.0.

Re: Buying or not
Actually I ran into almost the same thing. Best Buy and pretty much everywhere else was sold out. I found an Office Depot in town that had 6 on hand and they're one of the few stores that will still hold an item until the close of business. Called at noon and picked it up after work at 6.
After a couple of days with it I have to say it is well worth the money. I've still not seen any slowing down at all, it multi-tasks like a champ. I'm not thrilled with the launcher, just because it doesn't make the best use of the screen in portrait mode. There's a solid 2 inches of unusable space at the top and bottom of the home screen...not really understanding that move unless it's simply so everything jives when rotated. Anyway, downloaded Go Launcher HD and the thing really flies.
Highly recommended. - 04-26-2012, 02:23 PM #14

Re: Buying or not
I checked online to see if my BestBuy had them in stock. I then called them and told them to hold it at customer pickup for me, and they did. This was on release day though. I would hope BestBuy would restock them, if they are selling out this fast, they will probably want to sell more.

Re: Buying or not
My local Walmart had 3 in stock last night. They took one out of the case for me to play with. Spent about 5 minutes playing with it. Nice! I didn't buy it though. Still undecided. If I do buy, I'll probably go through Amazon and save that $25 in sales tax!

Re: Buying or not
Picked up one at Costco ($239 with slip case included). Still on the fence about keeping it. Love the form factor and weight. Nice screen. Pretty smooth. Like Samsung's widgets more that HTC's. But, I have an HTC Flyer. While it is a small upgrade in performance, many functions are very close in performance. Still bouncing around whether or not it's worth keeping, compared to sticking with the Flyer. Getting a Bamboo stylus today to see how it works with the GTab2, because I do take notes on the HTC (Scribe pen is short but nice, but Flyer's thickness makes writing awkward at times).

Reply
thing is i cant get until 5/3 when i get my check
i hope best buy will have them then.. and not be sold out...
