Yep, I couldn't believe they wanted that much for it.

Re: Cases
This is the one I purchased off Amazon.com. I was so impressed with it that I actually wrote a review on Amazon.
Amazon.com: HHI 360 Dual-View Multi Angle Folio Case Cover for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) - Black (Package include a HandHelditems Sketch Stylus Pen): Computers & Accessories
It fits the Tab 2 perfectly, all the ports/slots are open (not covered) except the SD card slot but that's not a big deal for me as I only have 1 SD card that I keep in it all the time. It's a great price for a great case, and I highly recommend it to anyone who owns a GT2. - 08-08-2012, 12:19 PM #10
Re: Cases
bought this one and got it yesterday: Amazon.com: Poetic StandBook Stand Leather Case Angle Adjustable With HandStrap for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus And Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Black (Stylus Holder / Inner Strap to hold the cover open is a plus) (3 Year Manufacturer Warranty From Poeti is nice, fits great and the handstrap comes in handy for holding it. Stand works great also, but you have to remove the bottom edges of the tab 2 and fit it in the slot for the stand to work properly.

Re: Cases
I can't believe it was $50 either. Personally, $5 was too expensive for that thing. Maybe I got a defective one, but the case cover didn't stay closed and it constantly collapsed under the weight of the Tab! I'm still puzzled as to why they put the hinge on the right side. Very awkward to open it.
I ended up spending $15 on a Case Logic pouch for 7 inch tablets rather than a case/stand. All the ones I tried tipped over under the weight of the tablet. Fortunately, the Logitech Bluetooth keyboard I bought for $60 at Target comes with a hard case that converts to a tablet stand. - 08-10-2012, 01:48 AM #12
Re: Cases
also if anyone is looking for a hand strap to attach to your tab I got one of these and it works great!
Note: If you watch the sellers items they normally put them up where you can bid on them. It just takes them a bit of time to relist them. I won the bid and got mine for $11.25 shipped. This strap will work even if you have a book cover style case on your tab (as mine does). - 08-11-2012, 01:41 AM #13
Re: Cases
I just got this Amazon.com: Samsung GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus / Samsung Galaxy Tab2 7.0 Tablet Custom Fit Portfolio Leather Case Cover with Built In Stand- Black: Computers & Accessories
You can't beat the price, and it has the correct holes for both cameras and a built in stand for watching video. If you want cheap, go with this thing. - 08-15-2012, 10:41 AM #14Card Carrying Device Junkie

Re: Cases
Targus Truss for Galaxy Tab 7.
Fifteen bucks from Office Depot when I bought it with my Tab 2. Easy to find for under $20. A little bulky but a nice rigid cover, also allows 3 positions as a stand in landscape mode. Exactly what I want.
Not specifically designed for the Tab 2, but it fits perfectly. Top right corner strap almost obscures front camera, but it's easy to flip out of the way when needed. Only significant shortcoming is no access to rear camera, so you need to remove the Tab from the case for rear camera use. Pretty rare for me to use it, so that's no big deal. - 09-01-2012, 07:10 AM #16
