My Tab 2 7.0 (Android 4.0.4) seemed to self-update a few days ago. I now have a new icon at the bottom right - just left of the time. The icon is an "i" with a slash through it.

Any idea what it is?

Also, is there any way to get spell check without the annoying predictive test?

That's probably the notification icon you're looking at. Turn on notifications in the pop-up where the wifi,gps, etc settings are and it should go away.
