Why am I unable to start my Galaxy Tab 2?

unable to start galaxy tab 2

galaxy tab 2 has started shutting down while in use, today it shut down by itself while in use. And now it will not start at all. Is it a mechanical issue (bad on/off switch), a software issue or a faulty electrical component?

It could be any of those things, or a failing battery.
