I have noticed with my galaxy tab 3 8 inch the battery went from fully charged to 52 percent in less than a hour i was playing a few games but is this normal?, I also have a sandisk 32 gb card. Also there is a small brown rectangular spot on the back of my tablet, any ideas what this could be?.

Do you have an SD card? If so, remove it and see how it peforms. Also, check out what is says is using the battery under Settings / Battery. Stop of delete those apps that are high users if possible.

I'm getting my battery replaced right now because it has horrible life. It heats up at the charging port and battery connection when charging, it goes from 0% to 10% right when I plug it in, it has random reboots because of the system overheating when I'm just watching YouTube!!!! I hope they fix this when I send it in. Because I can't afford a new tablet!!!! Oh yeah if you check the galaxy tab 3 KitKat update post in the forms I posted a chat I had about the update, so go have a look!!:-D

I have had my tablet for about 9 months now, no problems, but lately, the battery drains quickly, such as full charged to less than 20% in about 2 hours of use. I have gone to task manager and stopped running all the apps that were running, still, no improvement. Also, when I charge it, the tablet shows that it is charging, but overnight I come back and it may only be 70% charged. I am thinking it is possible that the battery is going bad, but unsure. It is only 8 months old. My Samsung Galaxy s3 does not have this problem.:(

OK, so it got replaced and this does not seem normal!! I have not charged it at all so those upward spike are not from me charging, is it normal for a battery to recharge itself? Please help me!! The first pics are before I went to sleep, the second are when I woke up!!

I am curious if anyone has found a resolution for this problem...I have sent my tablet in to Samsung twice for "repairs" and it still has the same issue...and, to top it off, I am now having similar issues with my S5, which is only a few months old. Needless to say, I am done with Samsung products.

I have a galaxy tab 3 and about 4 weeks ago the battery started draining when it was powered off. I sent it in to Samsung and 2 weeks later they sent it back saying they replaced the battery. Well my tablet continues to do the same thing and when I contacted them again they said there was nothing they could do

This is very interesting. My daughter has the Tab 8 and it was bought in July 2014. The battery is losing 1% per two minutes.
She keep having to use the Tablet while plugged in which I'm not keen on.
I've turned Wifi and all background apps off that I can find. Removed SD card and as I'm typing this the battery is just fading away.

With that much screen on time, that's about normal. You might want to check to see what's waking the device for such long periods when the screen is off. (And th fact that your mobile signal is weak also costs battery.)
