Anyone not having the "Sleep of Death" issue?

I am on my second device. The dim browser issue I can deal with since I use Opera anyway, but the issue that is causing me the most concern is the constant requiring of reboot.

If the device sits for an unspecified length of time, more often than not lately, I am having to hold the power button to reboot the device. When sleeping, it seems to go in to a REALLY deep sleep where it doesn't wake up.

Is anyone not having this issue? I am just trying to see if it maybe software related, however, I am running the same software on my other tabs without any issues.

Thanks!

I'm having the issue as well, although not that frequently. It happens maybe once a day, sometimes twice. I suspect its an app conflict and will no doubt be cleared up with an update...I hope.

I have the T-Mobile version and I have not had any sleep of death issues. I did have one lockup today when Gmail crashed.

Were you able to find the Tmobile version in a store? or did you have to order it online? Thanks.

I had to order it online. For some reason they are not carrying them in any stores in Colorado. I had it shipped overnight for 10 bucks and got it at the beginning of the week. I have been carrying a dumb phone and the galaxy tab for the last year and it ends up being the same price as a smart phone. I like the big screen for booking appointments and interacting with e-mail. It's also nice to put the phone on the charger at the end of the day and not have to worry about calls coming in. Oh, and having a 7 inch GPS is awesome.

I have the wifi 16 gb version and honestly have not had the sleep of death issue at all.. My only issue is that browser dim but now using Dolphin HD browser. Also my battery life has kinda sucked.. Even when not using my tab I have noticed a big percentage drop within a few hours.

No problem at all with the "sleep of death." Also, the problem with a dim screen is easily fixed by unchecking the automatic screen power saver. My only issue has been lousy wifi. I finally rebooted back to stock and that seemed to help. Still not happy with wifi though. Other than that...a superior tablet.

Nope, browser screen dim continues despite any settings I've tried. :'(

Have to agree, screen dim still there after update.

After looking at the few websites that have forums on this device, it is pretty evident that this device is "quirky" at best. Hopefully an update will fix it. I am afraid to exchange mine for another because I might get better wifi, but lose my good screen brightness. I am taking it on a mini road trip today and will check out different hotspots to see about the wifi issue. Will report back.

I got mine in the T-Mobile store on launch day, and it does have the sleep of death occasionally.

I have a wifi 16gb version purchased from Amazon when it first came out. It happened twice within the first 3 days but has not occurred since. I did a factory reset data early on to fix another issue so maybe the reset fixed it.

Sorry for the off topic question in advance... Anyone's 7.0 plus getting warm on the rear left side?

I have had 3 "sleep of death" events in four days. I have not done a factory reset. No crashes during use, which is good. Also, no problems with overheating or excess heat from the back of the tablet.

Yes. As long as it doesn't shut down like my old windows phone I don't mind too much.

I reset the device to factory and rooted it. I have not had the sleep of death issue in the past few days since doing this.

Reporting back:
Still no "sleep of death" issues. I was having major wifi issues and also the back was getting way too warm after only 30 minutes. I rebooted and also got the firmware upgrade. Since then the wifi seems a little better and not overheating at all now. Hopefully, the wifi will continue to improve with firmware updates.
