Stuck at the boot screen

Got up early this morning to try out my new usb reader for my 7.7. Went to turn it on and my tab would not progress beyond the initial Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Screen. Held power and volume down to shut down. Went off for a few seconds and then the same thing popped up. Did power button with volume up into recovery and selected re-boot. Same thing! I ended up doing a factory reset and just started over. It booted up.

I am completely stock. No root, no rom (boring I know). Using ADW Ex Launcher in the Honeycomb os.

Any thoughts as to why this happened and any less radical solutions should this happen again?

Same thing on mine last week. Sent in to Samsung for repair. Just got the email all fixed and on its way back.

Just got mine back from Samsung service dept. they actually updated it to ics for me!
