Selecting 1440p videos in YouTube

Hello,

Searching on this topic led me to following AC forum post,

Youtube HD Quality

, and comment #12 solution looked promising for the same symptom i'm having, i.e. i cannot get 1440p playback in YouTube.

I have ~50 Mb internet connection in home, able to stream 4K Netflix fine. But, for the life of me, i cannot get 1440p playback in any of the 2K video in YouTube. Highest i can select is 1080p. I can select 1440p, but afterwards going back to verify what the playback is set to, it's back down to 1080p again.

Has anyone run into similar problem with their Galaxy Tab S 10.5 device?

Who's videos on you tube are you trying to watch?
Yours or someone on you tube?
If its someone on you tube it depends on how they recorded it and if they edited it through you tube.
When you upload to you tube it will always upload the video in the format you recorded it in.

Ok so anyone can point me to 1440p youtube video that you confirm playback in 1440p?

Something is off.

This particular youtube video only plays as 720p in my Tab S 10.5. And i have the up to date, latest youtube play from Play store.

Correction. I don't know what it is, all i did was kept (re)trying, and now i see 1440p videos playing back with 1440p selected in the Quality setting. First for me.

Odd...
