Why do my GALAXY TAB S illuminated buttons fail to light?

GALAXY TAB S illuminated buttons fail to light.

My Samsung Galaxy Tab S should have two illuminated buttons just below the bottom of the screen
.One button displays Recent Apps the other goes back a screen. Just after the tablet was first used these two buttons ceased to light up although they still function otherwise. They do flash up briefly when booting up. Is there any fix for this?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have any power saving mode turned on? That often turns off the button backlights.
