    Default Sprint Galaxy Tab ordered

Just received the email regarding Premier customers getting the Tab early. Placed the order and it is already in the warehouse!

This is gonna be a fun weekend.

I got the same email, but was worried about the extra data charges. Do you know what the add-on charge to your monthly bill will be? Or if the data charge you're already paying suffices?

Immediately from what I can tell. They will be in the store on the 14th. If you are eligible for an upgrade, you can replace your phone with this.... though no phone calls.

$400 bucks is steep considering you'll being paying $360 (at the least) in data charges... I wish this thing was dual booting with windows then the decision wouldn't be hard to make.... But done I have a evo... Its like a mini tab but I can make calls

Yeah, I had the EVO. Still trying to figure out the phone call thing. There has to be a way around that.

At this point Google Voice does NOT do VoIP calls, so that won't work. However Skype may work. I know there is a hacked version that will work on 3G as well as WiFi.

I'm thinking that Android 2.3 may include a native VoIP client for Google Voice. But who knows for sure.... Hope to find out in a few days...

Nobody anywhere can answer my question:

If we order it today do they ship it out immediately? Or do we have to wait til the 14th?

In other words, when do I get to have the tab in my hands? :P

I guess the short answer is we don't quite know. Technically speaking, all they let me do was pre-order. So, we'll see. I'll post when I receive my tracking information from Sprint.

Next day air, nice! If I wasn't stupid busy this weekend, I'd have gone the same route. 2-5 business days for me, as of this morning.

first impressions: its an awesome gadget. solid hardware, snappy, screen looks great.

the browser is my only complaint. even after turning flash off the stock browser is choppy and laggy. i hope they fix this.

    Turn flash/plugins to "on demand"

There really is no need to keep it on all the time, except when you want to use it, IMO. (Like when you want to watch an embedded video)

I just turned it all the way off and it still lags.

Strange. Normally that helps a lot.. try a system wipe maybe. And try some other browsers too like Dolphin or Skyfire.
