Does anybody know if there is a way without rooting to use a VZW Tab as a mobile hotspot without paying the extra fees? I'm thiking of buying one but need it to work as a mobile hotspot

You want free, you must root. Also, you only have 1GB of data per month to work with so don't go over...

Go with T-mobile then, free mobile hotspot out of the box, 5G (or unlimited, not sure, data plan is $40/mo). Pretty fast too (1-5mbps).

They have plans all the way up to 8GB....

I was under the impression that the VZW tab had free hotspot. It makes sense because you would be using your data plan. thats why its not unlimited.

From all I've read hotspot is free on the tablet devices.

That's what I was thinking since they are data only devices. Sprint has their's listed as mobile hotspot capable.
