*Increase your phone battery life because you'll likely do all of your "smartphone things" on the tablet, reserving battery for phone calls. (doesn't apply to light users)
*Do research/get info faster with a larger screen, less zooming and panning around.
*More enjoyable movie watching while travelling
*Easier to see GPS while driving
*Working with office documents is easier (excel totally)
*This one depends on your ability/device but the larger keyboard is easier for me to type on compared to my phone. I make more mistakes with the smaller keys, then again I hate virtual keyboards in general.
Basically most things center around the larger screen yet it's still very portable (it's in the front pocket of my khakis right now while I work). Think of it like this, what things do you do on your Droid X that will be more enjoyable/faster to accomplish on a larger screen? With a 7" tablet its the reverse now. I think "what can my smartphone do that my tablet can't?" Okay make calls, I know.
Ultimately, only you can decide if a tablet will improve your "smartphone experience".

i have a droid x and a tab and i use my tab for surfing the internet, reading books, listening to music and playing most games. its far easier to use than you phone just off of the size difference alone. also the fragments that they talk about with honeycomb are in the tab. so the tab feels more like a computer than just a phone. unfortunately it still looks like a phone... at first but the launcher can be skinned and changed easily.

My wife uses her Galaxy Tab for everything. She has pretty much abandoned her MT4G. Work email on the Touchdown app for tablets is SO much better.
Everything just looks nicer in 7".
I travel a LOT, and I use my Xoom extensively when I travel. I also use dropbox and have all my work stuff at my disposal. I love to whip that Xoom out in customer visits and show them presentations, pictures, brochures and things. SO much easier than a laptop - 04-06-2011, 05:32 PM #5
Ask not what your tablet can do for you! But what you can do for your tablet! Sorry couldn't resist. Honestly though the only reason I like a tablet over the droid x is when typing. I do a lot of on the fly word documents and its so much easier on the tab then trying to edit a complete document with formatting on my X.

I use my Tab for movie watching and reading books. I also have the ipad, but find the Tab much more portable. I have to say that since I acquired the ThunderBolt I've been using the Tab a little less...

I use my Galaxy Tab for phone calls, email, surfing, movie, presentation, music and almost everything. Friends previously laughed at me using such a big phone until they observed how I utilize it during day-to-day with a bluetooth. It changed their perspective.
I really hope Samsung will continue to develop something like this- 7" tablet with phone feature and more powerful spec. - 04-06-2011, 07:58 PM

I recently purchased a GTab and I'm using it for music, reading, and school work. I'm attending an online college that send me text books but they can also be viewed online so saving those materials on my tab is a lot easier than carrying around a text book.
