Using Neo 2 with non galaxy phone

Anyone here using the neo 2 on a non samsung device? I currently do own a galaxy s5 however I do switch devices often and wanted to know how well it works without a non galaxy phone. What works and what doesn't? Thanks.

There are instructions floating around somewhere about how to side load Gear Manager, I have not tried it though.

Supposedly it works, but the weather function does not work

A friend at work uses the watch with his HTC One M8 phone and everything works.

I am using it with iPhone 5s and what works are: calling and receiving. Apps. However notifications do not work.
In order to get this working, I had to activate and load apps via my Samsung S4 mini.

ever since I found 8sms works well with Android Wear, I have been pretty content with the LG G Watch. However my work phone is still a Samsung, and I am on call this week. So I'll happily get a lot of use out of my Gear 2 Neo
