Why does my Gear Fit continue to send notifications until I look at the notification?

I recently went from an S5 to an S6. My Gear Fit worked perfectly with my S5, but when I switched to the S6 the Gear Fit sends me the same notification over and over again until I preview the message on my phone. It never did this on the S5 -it only sent the notification once. I'll look down at the watch now and it will say I have 11 messages when it's only 1 new message -it's just sent me the alert 11 times. How do I make it only alert me once for one new message?

Unfortunately I have the same "special feature" with my S6 but wasn't able to find a fix.
As I heard from an Samsung employee in our biggest tech store in Germany (Saturn) Samsung is working on an fix for connection/sync issues with Android 5.x and the Gear fit OS.
I just got an update a couple of hours ago for the gear fit Manager....maybe this is the solution to our prolem
