Getting Verizon Messages+ To Work With Replies

I hope someone can help me.

I am dying to get this to work, but I can't figure out the right combination of settings to get it to work.

How (and I am using the Gear Notification Extender) can I get Verizon Messages+ messages to appear on the watch with the ability to reply to them directly from the watch?

In Gear Notification Extender , on your phone, choose additional notifications. Choose the text app you want to use, in my screen shot I show where I use Textra.
When you get a text the GNE will send it to your watch, just swipe the screen from left to right to get to your notifications, tap the GNE icon, tap the curved arrow to reply to the text

What about the settings in the Galaxy Apps application on my phone?

my verizon messages + app worked without any tweaks... It was the only texting app I got to work without help from a 3rd party app. I am unsure why yours is giving you issues.
