Confused about Pre-defined Text Templates

The text templates we can set up in the Gear app on our phones is available in the Buddy app on the S2. We can initiate texts (and phone calls) from this app, and use the templates set up in the Gear app for texts and to reject phone calls.

Where I get confused is where the predefined text options that are available in Google/Android Messenger and Gmail comes from (options are the same for both apps, and not what we set up in the Gear app on phone). Any idea where the template options for Messenger and Gmail come from, and can we modify them somewhere? Thanks!

I think the preset responses for those aren't available for edit. On Android Wear we get similar response templates but those are set by the companion app/OS and cannot be edited
