Travel case for classic 3g

I need a hard travel case for my classic 3g for when I go to the gym. I want to put it in my gym bag without fear of it getting scratched or damaged. What size is the watch itself? I see cases for sale that say for 44mm watches. I know the band is 20mm, but are they referring to the watch itself? And does anyone have a case that they already use?

Yeah, I would think that would be the size of the watch.
