Hi forums - was considering this watch for a 12 year old. It would mostly be as a watch - stopwatch, alarms, time, etc. but like the added functionality of being able to use it as a phone to call home in a pinch.

I was thinking the kid would only turn on cell service if needed to text or call home and then turn it off. For example, they might get dropped of at a practice and turn it on for the hour or two just in case.

Question - how long is the battery life on the unit if you leave all the wifi, btooth, cell radios off and just use as a watch?

You might consider turning off the gesture feature as well. This will extend the battery life as well. You should be able to get through 24hrs. This is with my experience with the Verizon S2. A different carrier S2 may vary.
