froyo question
i really had no desire to root my phone. i think android runs real well without it. but with the bs announcement that there will be no 2.2 for my moment i'm now considering it. the only thing i would like out of 2.2 is the ability to install apps to my sd card...... is this possible when rooting? and are there any other good features of 2.2 that make it a "must have"?

Most of the 2.2 features can be accomplished without upgrading to 2.2. What 2.2 adds that cannot be gotten without a true upgrade to 2.2 is Flash and the raw speed improvement.
I wouldn't be surprised to see 2.2 for the Moment. Not from Samsung or Sprint, but from the community. - 07-04-2010, 11:30 PM #4
XDA Develepers Rooted the Moment already, and have 2.2 running on it. But, Sprint/Samsung will never release 2.2 on the moment officially. Going from 1.6 to 2.1 was a large jump. Now Samsung wants you to get the Moment 2, err, sorry Epic. If the Epic does what Samsung claims it can, it will be the top dog. But paper specs and what the end product can do, are rarely the same thing. *(see every version of the iPhone).

If I get to keep my loner moment or my wife does not upgrade to the epic I may look for a cooked 2.2 then.
