Can Moment sync with an MS Exchange Server
I am looking to either get the Samsung Moment or the HTC Hero from Sprint. I need to know FOR SURE if either or both can connect to an MS Exchange Server and be able to see public folders within outlook. I know I can get my e-mails, calender and contacts, but my work calenders, which I need to see, are in a "Public Folder" in outlook. They are stored on our server. These are what I need to be able to have access to, can anyone help so I make sure I am not getting a phone that will be useless to me in my job.

I just purchased the Moment. I am having trouble syncing it with my exchange server at the office. vcdechagn what do you mean "Of course your exchange server has to be set up correctly on the corporate end"? I had a windows based phone previously and had no problems with syncing.

I sync with an Exchange server and have no problems at all. I sync email, calendar and contacts. I was able to add email using the email app but if I want calendar and contacts I had to sync through work email icon.

As long as your work's Exchange server is on 2003 SP2 or higher, you should have no problems using the "work email" application on the Moment. I'm the Exchange admin for my company and can confirm that it will work with Exchange 2003 SP2, 2007, and 2010. I've had my own mailbox on all three iterations of exchange and every time I've been able to sync no problem.

Also, your admin has to have you enabled for ActiveSync, but like njeske since I'm one of the exchange admins, it's an easy fix for me.
garz243 what version of exchange are you running there?
kjwhite622 Not sure on public folders (as I don't sync public, just mine). - 05-17-2010, 12:25 PM #8
