Security issues with Samsung Pay? Amex card compromised a week after adding

I started using Samsung pay on my Note7 a week ago, adding my American Express card to the app. Over the past two days, I've had three charges I didn't recognize on my Amex card, for GoDaddy, PayPal, and Jockey. Amex called me today to ask if the charges were valid, and when I said they are not they said they would issue me a new card. (I'm impressed with how they pick up on fraudulent charges--I don't know how they do it.)

At any rate, has anyone else had problems with security? I don't know that Samsung Pay had anything to do with the card being compromised, but the timing is there.

It didn't. Samsung pay is extremely secure.

That was my assumption. There are lots of other ways the number could have been stolen.

Interestingly, an hour after getting off the phone with AmEx, I got a notification from Samsung Pay that the AmEx card had been updated. I looked in the app, and it had a new credit card number listed--without my having done anything.

It didn't. Samsung pay is extremely secure.
