Extended Battery?
I have looked through the Stratosphere threads and also through the Android store...where is the best place to purchase an extended life battery. I am shopping for my g/f. Not necessarily the cheapest but reliable....The android store does not reference the Stratosphere directly but I have heard this phone is exactly like some other phone. Thanks in advance.

Re: Extended Battery?
Last I checked, Verizon's corp stores and their website had the extended battery for $25. (50% off)... that is where most people are getting them.
The product page may say $49.99, but you have to add to cart before it shows the discount.
(EDIT: checked now, its still on sale) - 12-27-2011, 12:55 PM

Re: Extended Battery?
I personally just bought my wife and I a TrexCell 4000mah extended battery they were only 18.99 a piece and had free shipping on Amazon. I have noticed a tremendous increase in battery life, I have actively used my strat with many heavy apps all day to test it and results were great! I only went from 100% down to 65% and that was with all brightness up, bluetooth on, wifi on, and gps on too, as well as really playing a few games on it too. I have been satisfied thus far. The best part is that I have rooted mine, but left my wife's at stock just in case, lol but She has seen a great increase as well. The reason hers depleted a little quicker than mine is because of all the apps and bloatware that she runs in the background like facebook, live wallpaper, and all her other social and misc. apps (i.e. junk,

Re: Extended Battery?
I have the verizon extended battery. I think it is 3500 mah compared to your TrexCell 4000mah.
I'm wondering if that Trexcell will fit in the same fat-back cover as the original Verizon extended battery.
The biggest problem that I have found is that there are VERY few, if any, cases that cover the phone once you install the extended battery.
For me, I use a zippered camera case that clips to my belt... bought at Best Buy. At first I was annoyed that I could not find a good phone case, but now I like the fact that the camera case totally protects the phone... I can work out in the yard with it... get dirty... drop the cased phone.... and no problems. - 02-07-2012, 08:01 AM #10

Re: Extended Battery?
A follow-up report on battery life with the extended battery: I charged it to 100% as of about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. It is now 8:30 a.m. Friday, 58 hours later, and the charge stands at 12%, low enough to get warnings from the phone to charge it, which I'm going to do.
Obviously this includes two overnights when I was not using the phone at all. I don't do any game playing or very much music streaming (and no video streaming during this particular time period). OTOH, I do leave the Bluetooth and GPS turned on all the time, even overnight, just to avoid having to remember turning them on when I go out. I do spend a fair amount of time on Wikipedia and other Web browsing, a newspaper-reading app, and Google maps. The phone requested to go into power-saving mode when the battery reached 20% earlier this morning, but I declined that for the sake of the testing.
Of course everyone's phone use and experience will be different, but 58 hours to go from 100% to 12% seems pretty good to me. - 03-25-2012, 10:38 AM #16

Re: Extended Battery?
The thickness is a stinker. I get used to it, but when I handle someone else's phone, I notice it.
However, I use my phone much like a notebook computer....or a netbook. Meaning, thanks to the strat and this battery, I can leave my computer at home... carrying only that chubby little phone on my hip.... and, unlike most computers... the phone can go all day with heavy use.
I am re-buying my stratosphere tomorrow even though I could buy any android currently available.... that extended battery, the low power demands of the low spec device, the keyboard, and the great screen: It is still the only one that has all of those features.
