Apps that you do not want

Unfortunatly, the NFL app is one of several pre-installed apps that cannot be uninstalled. These apps don't have any effect on your phone's performance. They do take up part of the phone's internal storage availability, but I haven't found this to be a problem. Most downloaded apps can be stored on the SD card.

This is a common complaint of Verizon Android phone users (and maybe others, I don't know). As jrh4054 said, there's no way to delete them. If you're tired of seeing their icons, you can do this:
  • Any icon on any Home screen can be deleted by tapping and holding it. A Remove icon will appear at the bottom of the screen. You have to hit this simultaneously with holding the icon, or at least immediately afterward.
  • In your Applications drawer/screens, you can create new folders (Menu > New folder) and drag icons into them to organize or hide them (Menu > Edit > drag).
Hope this is some help in dealing with this annoyance.

By way of clarification/simplification of Dave-in-Decatur's instructions for deleting shortcut icons from your home screen, you can long hold on the ones you want to delete and drag them one at a time into the trash can that will appear at the bottom of the screen.
