Needing help with my Strat and rooting and debloating

New to all of this technical stuff. I am trying to figure out how to root my phone and how to remove preloaded apps. I would also want it to run a heck of alot better than it does now.
i have never done anything to it so it is stock here is the info I got of phone.

Wow! Sounds like we have the exact same problem.... Yes if anyone can please help I would be so thankful and my husband will save on buying new phone... Or will he?

I would head over to RootzWiki for the Stratosphere: Stratosphere - RootzWiki

They have the only active forums (and development!!) for this device that I am aware of, there are rooted ROMs, debloated ones, custom recovery, detailed information, etc. Should be everything you need.
