Can anyone confirm the Sprint Transform is getting updated to Froyo? I've been trying to check for updates every couple days but still says no updates available. Are they just doing in waves? in regions?

I have the optimus and my phone came with froyo. As of this momment I am running a Gingerbread ROM

Yes the Transform has Froyo. You may have to do a hard wipe to get it, I had to. Your contacts are backed up on your google account you used for your phone but you will lose your apps. Thats what I had to do to get the Froyo update.

Why the hard wipe? Is there something installed that blocks the normal update process?

if you are comfortable using swupdater you can get the zip from sdx-developers. here is the link tot he page. follow the directions and you should be fine.

And how would the average person get the update? My friend, who is not very good with this kind of thing, does not want to update her phone unless it's a legit OTA update. If a hard wipe or the swupdater are the only way to get Froyo on the Transform, this is a huge oversight by Samsung and I am very disappointed in their service.

Wife got a transform today after intercept flopped three times, came with eclair, checked for new software, it handed me froyo.

...is anyone tired of these dumb signatures?
