Ok I might have a fix for this. Some roms, (like CM7) for our phones require you to remove the telephony.db file. so, from terminal emulator, run: # rm /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db then... # reboot ... after this, pic messages should send/receive just fine.

Root the phone. Nandroid backup, move nandroid to computer, root new phone, move nandroid to sdcard of new one, restore. Or root, and use titanium backup. Otherwise, market apps and contacts are synced with the google account associated with the phone. No rooting for that.

yes i reported it on the issues page. at least i know its rom specific, and i didnt mess up my new optimus ^_^

Excellent instructions + vid... thanks It was my very first root, (my very first android phone)... after downloading all of the required stuff, it took me about 10 mins. Very helpful.
