She has an old Alpine CDA-105. It's a moot point for me now. I have deactivated my M8 and reactivated my old iPhone 4. The M8 has too many bugs that I could not overcome in the functions that I use daily. At least I know the iPhone functions even though it is old, small and slow.

So it's not just me. My M8 is functionally useless in my cars. I can't get it to play through USB at all. Using Bluetooth, it will play music but the skip song feature doesn't work properly if at all. Strangely enough, it works fine in my wife's car with an old aftermarket Alpine head unit.

This was happening to me using the stock browser and Chrome. I loaded Firefox but haven't been able to test it much yet. I thought maybe I was missing a setting or something. Edit: not working in Firefox either.

As far as I can tell, the location function is an on/off function for all apps. I would like to allow some apps (like a phone finder) and deny other apps access to location. Is this possible? Google, Facebook, etc. do not need to know my location however much they think they would like to.

That is helpful to know for future use. Switching to ART seems to have solved my immediate problem and as a side benefit, I came home from work today with 71% battery life remaining.

Actually, the conversion to ART seems to have fixed the issue. I was able to log into Google Play and download the app that I had previously tried to download. Don't worry, I have plenty of other questions on my mind about this new phone that I will roll out in the next few days.:)
