Can we talk about Chinese phones vs brand name ones and what they offer for their pricing?

In the UK. I had recently decided to stop spending so much money on flagship phones and started getting into mid-rangers (considering I only use my phone for Facebook and media - videos, camera, etc). After having been a massive Samsung fan for pretty much all my life, I finally made the jump...

Looking for a new mid-range Android phone.

Ok, after having played with my new Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G for 24 hours, this is probably the best phone I've ever owned. . Can't beat these specs for £280: 120Hz display (the smoothest scrolling I've seen), 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, Snapdragon 695, a 108 MP camera, a headphone jack + a 67W...

Looking for a new mid-range Android phone.

Thanks! What about updates? A53 would've given 4 years of updates (+ it comes with Android 12). Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G - isn't that two and possibly even just one year as it comes with Android 11?

Looking for a new mid-range Android phone.

In addition, it might be just me, but it was very difficult to set up my address in the UK when I created my account in Xiaomi. The address line fields did not allow me to input my street number, etc. I managed to do it, but not in the designated fields. I really hope it isn't just me and that...

Looking for a new mid-range Android phone.

Thanks. I managed to find Dux Ducis cases on Ebay for it, but they are all wallet-type ones. As far as I am aware, don't these type of cases mess up with the proximity sensor due to the in-built magnets on them? If not, I may use the case from the box.

Thank you! With regards to cases, i can't find any specifically for that model from Dux Ducis? Would you be able to send a link?

Looking for a new mid-range Android phone.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations! I just ordered the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. First ever Chinese phone - very excited to try it out. I will make sure to disable the ads and also uninstall pre-installed games and bloatware. Any idea how many years updates and support will be...

Looking for a new mid-range Android phone.

Thanks for all the replies! I might wait a few more weeks or months so I can save some more and get the A53 5G. Would you say it's better than the A52s 5G? The A53 is newer and only £30 more expensive, but the A52s 5G has a headphone jack AND a charger in the box. What about Chinese phones...

Looking for a new mid-range Android phone.

I've been using Samsung Galaxy A41 for almost a year and a half now. It's a decent mid-ranger for my needs, but it's missing that "smoothness" and snappiness of opening apps. I am basically looking for something with a faster processor. No other needs, except that the display has to be 1080p...

Mobile data active, but no connection.

I now found what the issue is and fixed it. The network's default APN settings only show 1 option: Vodafone UK Data (wap.vodafone.co.uk). Resetting the APN settings and not choosing that default setting, causes 1 additional option to appear, which has the exact same name as the above...

Mobile data active, but no connection.

Thanks, but the SIM is working just fine on my back-up phone. There shouldn't be a need for me to go through the hassle considering I am using a pre-paid card and the phone is also unlocked. I bought the phone from Carphone Warehouse, SIM free and unlocked (paid full price for it). It's...

Mobile data active, but no connection.

The issue is back. Connection is non-existent when on mobile data. Any suggestions are welcome...

Mobile data active, but no connection.

Both calls and messages working just fine. Anyway, I actually managed to get it fixed - swapped my gf's SIM card into mine (we both have the same models), which worked, then put my SIM card again into it - and that finally also worked. It seems to have reset something, which none of the other...

Unlocked, from Carphone Warehouse (official UK retailer). Phone was working flawlessly until yesterday when the software updated.

Mobile data active, but no connection.

I have a 6-month Galaxy A41. The phone software updated yesterday and since then, I don't have any internet connection whenever I use mobile data (either on Chrome, Playstore or anywhere - nothing works). Network is Vodafone. I tried: - Rebooting the phone. - Removing the SIM card and trying...

What is wrong with Youtube's search and recommendation suggestions?

I made a new Google account 2 months ago. I made sure to apply the same YT settings and to subscribe to the same channels as before, but this time, something's gone really weird. For example, when I search something, I get only around 10 results, followed by "People also watched" and "For...

    "Bluetooth can't connect" error.

I bought my first mid-range phone (Galaxy A41) and everything is great except... When I pair it with my laptop (Win 10), it pairs successfully, but it shows an error "Bluetooth couldn't connect" when attempting to connect to it. It can successfully transfer files from and over to the laptop...

I just bought my first budget phone and...

I really enjoy it! I used to buy flagships all the time. Realised I am only using my phone for Internet, photos and videos (no gaming at all). So I bought a Galaxy A41 - really enjoy it! It's a tiny fraction below my previous phone's specs (LG G7), but it performs almost as well and also costs...

Can a phone play higher resolution videos than what its display is?

If let's say I want to buy a certain new smartphone, can it play 1920x1080p videos, considering its resolution is 720x1600p? If yes, what would the drawbacks be? Many thanks.

Recommend me a good mid-ranger for up to £300.

Thanks and sorry for posting in the wrong section. As mentioned, I am leaning more towards the Samsung A-series so anyone with such phone is welcome to comment! However, I will certainly look into the Pixel series too after your recommendation.
