    Unrooting Help

Uhh. You used Odin? That's a bad idea if I ever heard one. Whenever you want to return to stock, use LGNPST. There's a guide over in the IRC channel. www.webchat.freenode.net channel: #lg-optimus-g

    Any Updates Soon?

The short answer is 'no'. The user interface is intentionally skinned white. It's LG's style choice. And it's fairly unlikely that we will ever see anything more than a rare minor bug fix update in the future, since the Optimus G Pro is coming around and the G2 is in the works.

Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Issues/Bugs for Optimus G on Sprint

Try using LGNPST to revert back to stock ZV7 or ZV9, then update to ZVB.

Now that I have 4.1.2 what do I do?

They're working on CyanogenMod 10.1 over on XDA. Just a few kinks that still need to be ironed out. (if you want something to play with)

is optimus G wifi a little weak?

I'm on JB and no difference; still pretty crappy wifi.

    LS970ZVB (Sprint Jelly Bean Update)

The original ZVA build info dump on the server showed 4.1.2. I don't know where people are getting the "ZVA is 4.2" stuff. The rooted community is already running ZVB because somebody managed to pull the update zip a couple weeks ago. How? I'm not sure. Who? I don't know that either. LG/Sprint...

How to root the Sprint G Optimus G (Windows only)

ATTENTION: THIS POST IS OUTDATED. FOR EVERYONE LOOKING FOR WORKING ROOT: [GUIDE] 3-7-13- ZVB/JB,ZV9,ZV8,ZV7 ROOT and UNLOCKING - xda-developers (This is for Sprint but there are ATT and generic forums too) The Android Central forum for the G barely has any content compared to XDA. If you're...

    LS970ZVB (Sprint Jelly Bean Update)

LS970ZVB (4.1.2) has dropped been leaked.. Expect OTA soon. Read more over on XDA. Don't attempt to flash if you are rooted & unlocked. Don't be over-eager if you don't know what you're doing; you could brick your device. There's a guide on how to manually install the update over on XDA, as well...

Bricked Sprint Optimus G (I think???)

Glad you got it working. Yeah, don't flash an AOSP ROM on a phone that isn't supported. Additionally, you can use LGNPST tool to revert to stock ZV7 as long as you can get into Download Mode. Don't ask for a link, as we're not allowed to link directly to it. You can, however, find out more...

    Can't Update ZV9

Good to hear. Restoring to stock is usually a surefire way to get things working correctly.

    Can't Update ZV9

    You're not rooted, correct?

    Can't Update ZV9

You can try doing a factory reset and then attempt the update again. Keep in mind, though, this will erase all user data. So don't do it if you don't know how to properly back up your stuff.

Can you help convince me to buy this phone?

The design of the OG vs the GS3 was the push for me. The GS3 feels too plasticky, and I don't like the curved design. Also, for me, the screen on the OG seemed more crisp and natural than on the GS3. It was also the fact that I couldn't bring myself to spend 200 dollars on a device that's...

    Root and OTA

Indeed -- if you updated to ZV9 you lost root. You can root again with the ZV9-specific root method over on XDA. Keep in mind, if you unlock your bootloader, do NOT do OTA updates unless you use LGNPST to revert to stock ZV7 first. You will end up with a soft brick.

Just so you guys know, houstonn over on XDA has been making awesome progress on porting the Korean 4.1.2 to the US networks. Sprint version is in alpha testing right now; calls/texting/data are a little wonky original thread Sprint-specific bug / testing thread
