I have'nt rooted yet either and won't unless I have to.So far the lag has improved on it's own apparently,it's like 1-2 seconds now compared to 5 sec's when I got it a mo. ago..The things I do to keep it running smooth are I keep the history's clear(delete every 3-4 days),same with the browser...

Sprint has cheaper plans and the EVO is awesome,that said I'd ck. both services,prices, coverages and ph's.offerings and go from there.The Droidx & Incredible are great also.
