    Backup and Wipe

    You can get a dual USB flash drive, make a complete nandroid backup, and transfer the backup to the flash drive. Then do a factory reset on the tablet and you're good to go. SanDisk has a 32 Gb dual USB flash drive for about $30. I have one and have never had one problem out of it. I use it daily.

    5.1.1 battery life

    Don't know if you're rooted or not but if you are I suggest the app "Servicely" and set it to run on boot, kill Google play services and Google app. You will still get updates from Google now and all that. Servicely just the services running in the background that aren't high priority.
