Nexus 5 or GS4 Google Play Edition?

Re: Nexus 5 or GS4 Google Play Edition Happy birthday! Mine was on the 22nd. Yeah I use my phone for work and having a swapable battery is really nice. I guess it really comes down to whether or not the camera is just mediocre on the N5. I'll make my decision then.

Nexus 5 or GS4 Google Play Edition?

Re: Nexus 5 or GS4 Google Play Edition TouchWiz makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit, so I get ya. Seems like Google is treating the GPE phones pretty much like a nexus so I'm thinking of the S4 as just an alternate nexus.

Nexus 5 or GS4 Google Play Edition?

So, I'm a bit underwhelmed by the N5, but 4.4 looks amazing. Since a good camera is a big deal to me, I'm thinking of grabbing a lightly used Galaxy S4 Google Play edition off of ebay for around 400-450 instead of a Nexus 5. It's more expensive, but assuming the camera on the N5 is only...

maybe im drinking the apple kool-aid, but

Well if you're a person that gets sucked up in hype than you should just chill for a bit and make your decision later. No rush. See what the Nexus 5 turns out to be. The only reason I think anyone would consider an iphone 5s is for ios (if you prefer it) or the camera. Sounds like they just took...

Stream music from phone to PC

So I got a tough one for you guys. What I'm looking to do is stream music via the Google Music app from my phone to my PC (Windows 7). I tried an app called Music Remote which lets you stream music that you're playing via the Google Music app to any other Android device that has Music Remote...

    Possibly interested in the Nexus...

Right. Any I've often wanted to tether to my PC for uploads, since Time Warner limits my upload speeds to like .47 Mb/sec while Verizon's 4g can reach up to 10.

Hmm that's interesting. I read on Droid Life that this wouldn't work, but I guess that was false. Might have to try this.... At any rate, 4 gb is a bunch of data, for me at least.

    Possibly interested in the Nexus...

I heard that won't work. If you do get it to work, they'll just revert your plan later. However, they are or will be running a special where you can get 4 gb of data for the price of 2 on a 4g phone. Since the iphone isn't 4g, it won't be eligible. But if you get the Nexus, even if you decide...

    Possibly interested in the Nexus...

Yeah the Nexus really wasn't "done" when they released it. They just wanted to get those Christmas sales. But now it's great.

Yeah you have a trial period so give it a shot. I came from Sprint so it's hard to say if there are signal issues, but what I will say is that I haven't ever had a problem with signal strength since I got it on Dec 15th and I live in NYC (for those who don't know, NYC is the worst urban area in...

    Apps updated for ICS

Seems like there aren't that many apps out there that are compatible with the new ICS UI (no legacy menu button, contextual search button). Here are the ones that I know of: Drop Box Google Voice Alarm Clock Extreme Google Docs ...and that's it. Am I crazy or are very few developers updating...

    Where's the 4.0.3 update?

Oh I know. I used to be a ROM freak. I'm just being insanely lazy.

    Where's the 4.0.3 update?

Yeah but they were kinda vague. It's mostly under the hood stuff. From what I've heard, the browser is much smoother now, the lag when you hit the multi-tasking button is gone, and they've added a bookmarks button in the quick controls for the browser. Android 4.0.3 announced, bringing...

    Where's the 4.0.3 update?

Anyone know what's going on with this? People running roms based on 4.0.3 are saying it's a big improvement and it fixes things that are currently driving me nuts about my Nexus (laggy browser and multi-tasking button). I would just flash a 4.0.3 rom but I don't feel like setting up everything...
