Kid's K1's stuck at 6.0.1

This has been the case for a long time now. When the update tool launches, it tries to download the update, but can't. Suggests I check the network connection, but that's not the problem.

I found a site that suggest I delete /local/NVIDIA/App/OTA, but that folder doesn't exist. I tried making it in /sdcard, but that didn't work.

Can someone tell me where the NVIDIA directory is supposed to be? Perhaps you can find it through adb shell and ls -R | grep NVIDIA

I'm hoping I can get these to work without having to format. My kids have a lot of saved data and some of it can't be backed up (that I know of).

Have you contacted nvidia tech support, sounds like the android OTA tool is not working correctly. There should be a way of upgrading without using the tool. The tech support people need to walk you through that. Maybe it's as simple as you clearing your cache partition on your Android device or something like that.
