Default Browsing forums pulls up my search engine

Using Firefox 17.0.1 when i click on a thread in a forum or even try to start a new thread, it actually pulls up my search engine (in this case yahoo) pointing to the particular thread that I am looking to read and it just continues on this vicious cycle until I get frustrated and quit. Apparently I am not having this problem in IE9. Anybody got any ideas?

Hmmmmmm that sounds nasty. Try running an antivirus check and let me know... first time I've heard of this one..

So far I'm back on firefox and everything is working fine. Going through my AV logs there are a few tracking cookies but nothing major. But like said glitch seems to be fixed.
