This web site seems to be very slow. Does anyone else experience this.

I notice it on both my home and work PC; even on my tablet. Is there a way to optimize the web site?

I think it's the ads. I won't make specific suggestions as the site is actually supported by ads but my page load times here are relatively equivalent to other sites (and faster than if I hadn't done anything).

It's the site. Painfully slow to use. the worst being after I have read a forum and I am backing out to the forum lists. Loading loading loading and more loading.

It's actually been slower at times, even on my 30 Mb connection at home with certain elements hidden/blocked.

Mine has not improved. Like hallux, it has been slow depending on the time of day. 30Mb connection here also and it seems to take longer than usual to load all the content. Can't say that it is both the front page and the forums because the forums is pretty slow for me to load but the front page is hit or miss. So to answer your question James, no, it has not improved.

Maybe it is the 46 trackers I got when I ran "Identify Trackers" with the "Disconnect me" app.

Even with ad blockers, a fresh install of Fedora 22 fully optimized - browser cache loading in RAM and some other speed tweaks - running on a new, fast workstation with a ton of RAM and SSD drive AND Google Fiber gigabit internet, it's still frigggn' slow!

Hmmm...Maybe it's a bottleneck between my workstation and Android Central's servers. Let;s find out. Simply runnng traceroute should do. It returns:

I've heard that before. Yeah, I'll admit it's pretty cool. You can really stretch out a site's servers, separate the players from the pretenders.

Hops consistently poor within ntt... I can ping them and ask.

They'll just deny that those Windows NT 4.0 boxes are still online.

Looks like a lot of bouncing around inside the amazon network there.

Like pool balls after the break. But I suppose they have their reasons...
