Last night when I was browsing AC the "Tapatalk ad" became increasingly annoying and made navigating on my X unbearable. It seems as though AC has increased the frequency for this Ad and has made it very difficult to visit the site on my X.

**Previously it would pop up 1 time and then it would disappear, now it won't stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tapatalk is displaying this, not us. If you want to get rid of it completely you can change the User Agent setting in the X's browser from mobile to desktop.

Tapatalk Popup spam

Is there an app available that can block or disable the Tapatalk popup ad/spam that appears everytime I visit a page on this and other forums? I have noticed a trend across forums where people are complaining about this more and more:
Many of the responses seem to be very defensive which I don't understand (such as, "why would it bother you," "it's not spam," "its just a helpful reminder," etc, etc. Just because it is something that some people might want does not make it not spam. For example if you were to exchange the word viagra for Tapatalk and have the popup perform exactly the same way that it does, I don't think that there is one single person here that would not be annoyed and that would not classify it as a spam popup.

I would like to ask a question here of the forum administrators and I am not trying to offend, I am only trying to understand this issue fully: Does Tapatalk kickback something to a site when a person clicks yes on the popup and purchases the Tapatalk software? I am only asking because I find it a little unusual (if you read some of the responses in the link posted) how defensive some of the responses seem to be. If you have tapatalk, I am glad you have it, like it, whatever but I don't know of any other paid software that has ranked to get a popup asking forum users to buy it (no matter how supposedly helpful that software is to the browsing experience). If Tapatalk is getting this advantage because they are kicking back some dollars to the forum in question then I guess I have to accept it. If they are simply profiting off of forum members at no cost then I just don't understand it.

Re: Tapatalk Popup spam

I don't know but I would really like to know how to get rid of it. It pops up everytime I visit a page here and it's enough to make me want to stop coming to this site.

Re: Tapatalk Popup spam

I only get the message once, and then it never comes back unless I do something that clears/resets my browser's cookies.

Re: Tapatalk Popup spam

Just out of curiosity, why are you going to the forums webpage through the browser? I find it ten times easier to just use tapatalk. The only thing you cant do from there, which i wish you could. Is do the thanks or like.

+1 for Tapatalk. I bought it so I can have easy access to the AC forums when I'm away from my computer, and I really like it. The only thing I can't do with it are give out like/thank posts.

That pop up is still there. It only seems to pop up every third or fourth time for me. Very annoying! I follow the forums on Twitter, and follow the links to a thread that I find interesting. If I was just browsing the forums, I could see the value of Tapatalk. Zero value for Twitter links. It really does make me want to unfollow the forums. It is just so much easier using Twitter though to follow the threads. If there is anything that can be done, please do it mods. Thanks in advance.

Weird it should be totally gone. I'll have to investigate why it isn't. Does your phone browser have a setting for identifying itself as a desktop browser instead of Android?
