Default I cant get any ROM past boot/splash screen

Ok. Am using Rom Manager to try to get some good ROMS. I am on a HTC Desire (CDMA) rooted with SU.

I have tried Cyanogen 6 and 7, cannot get either of them to work. They stick at the splash screen for 30+ minutes before I reboot. Seriously. I know it may take a whle, but I have not heard of it being 30+ minutes each time I try this...

There is a long story here, but I had the Desire rooted once. When I had it rooted first time I had Cyanogen 7 run. I unrooted (like I said, long story), went back to stock. I rerooted, installed SU and got Rom Manager. Now, nothing will go past splash. I can get back to the backup and restore with no problem. When I got it to work i did it from Recovery via .zip. Now .zip doesnt work and neither does ROM MANAGER.

There is one thing I am wondering about... I put CWM Recovery 3.0.0.5 on when I first rooted. When I go into HBOOT and Restore, it is that version. However ROM Manager "installed" CWM 2.+ but that is not what runs. Does that have anything to do with this problem?

I have a Fascinate too that I rooted and had no problems with ROM. This really has me stumped.

So, anyone have any ideas why NONE of the ROMS I tried will install past splash?

This is probably a dumb question but did you wipe everything before flashing? Try wiping multiple times before flashing. I heard CM7 was funky like that.

I accidentally flashed CM7 before wiping and it got stuck in a boot loop. Also, I know CM7 can be funny at first, sometimes, and needs multiple wipes before flashing.

Wipe data/cache/davlik always before flashing just to be safe.
