Default US government legalizes 'jailbreaking,' unlocking

The U.S. government on Monday announced new rules that make it officially legal for iPhone owners to "jailbreak" their device and run unauthorized third-party applications. In addition, it is now acceptable to unlock any cell phone for use on multiple carriers.

    Still voids your warranty.

Just makes it so you cannot be sued for doing it.

to be honest i think is it good that is "oficially" legal to do so but i dont think anybody really got in trouble for doing it before. as long as you aren't making a profit off of somebody else work and doing it for your own needs then there really isn't much they can do aside from just voiding your warranty
